History

Sales Executive Association was started in April of 1973. Paul Duncan of Duncan Press came up with the idea after seeing a similar organization in Shreveport, Louisiana. This organization was started when Paul met with Charles Findley and seven other businessmen. The purpose of the organization was to form a group of business people with one representative from each profession. These businesses would then be able to trade with each other, refer business to other members and keep each other informed on current business conditions.

The S.E.A. first met at Furr’s Cafeteria on 4th Street. Over the next several years the members of S.E.A. met at several locations including Lakeridge Country Club. The group opted to meet at 12:00 Noon on Thursdays at McKenzie Merket Alumni Center.
